django CMS is a free open source content management system written in Django and Python. It was built for developers, marketers, and business owners, offering intuitive and easy-to-use features. django CMS supports multilingual content, while its administration interface can be displayed in multiple languages. The drag-and-drop functionality and built-in SEO tools make it easy for editors to add and change their content. With the live demo, you can run through all the features django CMS offers and experience the user Interface.

When it comes to django CMS installation, you have multiple options to set up a project. In a previous blog post, we showed you how to install django cms for developers. In this article, we will look at the setup for the django CMS live demo with Divio Cloud, which is fast and useful both for people without a technical background or any previous developing experience, and experienced developers who want to get started with a deployable project as swiftly as possible.

Step 1: Create a live demo website

The first step involves creating a live django cms demo website. To create your demo website, you first navigate to the django CMS website and press on the green button.

Choose for your project type "django CMS" and add "Bootstrap 4" as your Boilerplate. A boilerplate allows you to define components to be used by a project, so that for each new project you can choose to have the same frontend components installed.

Bootstrap 4 offers your site a client-side solution with a complete toolkit for building web sites. You will have a full set of ready-to-use components that you can use right now.

Installing django CMS themes

After you have successfully created your first django CMS live demo with Divio Cloud, you can start customizing your online demo and create your first page. There is no django CMS theme store available like you are used to with WordPress or Joomla. One of the features of django CMS, is that it is able to accommodate any design and frontend interface without any restrictions.
