Frontend Editing (Update)

We would like to give you a sneak preview of the upcoming new functionality in django CMS: Frontend editing. Checkout the screencast below:

  • Template change
  • Jump directly to the specific admin pages
  • Add/edit/delete plugins
  • Move plugins within or to another placeholder

Frontend editing works with all plugins. We will put the beta on github after the 2.0 release. Official release of this new functionality will be with version 2.1. So help us finish 2.0 as fast as possible :-). Let us know what you think about the new functionality. Thank you for your feedbacks and contributions!

This release reduces friction across the whole project lifecycle: creating a new project, adding django CMS to an existing Django application, configuring larger deployments, controlling which plugins editors can use, and working with the CMS every day.

This release addresses three medium-severity security vulnerabilities and includes improvements to accessibility, Django compatibility, permissions, Content Security Policy support, and general editor stability.
