🚀 Fresh Releases to Keep You Moving

April brought three important releases, each a step toward a smoother, more powerful CMS experience:

  • django CMS 4.1.6 – A clever workaround for a Django 5.2.0 bug that was showing admin object tools twice under specific conditions.
  • djangocms-frontend 2.1.2 – A tidy bugfix release that improves how inline fields are discovered.
  • djangocms-link 5.0.1 – Smoother link selection, better form behavior, and cleaner migrations.

🤝 A Month of Meaningful Contributions

April saw 33 contributions, driven by both longtime supporters and first-time contributors:

  • django CMS core: 13 contributions
  • djangocms-frontend: 4
  • djangocms-4-migration: 4
  • djangocms-text: 3

Special shoutouts to @metaforx, who submitted two PRs to prepare djangocms-rest for django CMS 5. And a warm welcome to first-time contributors: @shundread, @dimacodev, @Grosskopfgames, and @milonline-eu—your fresh energy matters! Thanks also to everyone keeping this ecosystem vibrant.

🌍 A Week of Insight at DjangoCon Europe

DjangoCon Europe lit up Dublin at the end of April. It was wonderful connecting with so many members of the django CMS Association in person. Read my event reflection: DjangoCon Europe 2025 – A Week of Insight, Innovation, and Community

💬 In Closing

April reminded us that progress isn’t just measured in version numbers—it's in the people, passion, and potential that fuel every contribution. Whether you’re shipping a release, reviewing a pull request, or just getting started, you’re building the future with us.

Happy coding! 🚀

Release

django CMS 5.1 is here: easier setup, flexible deployments, and a fresh editing experience

This release reduces friction across the whole project lifecycle: creating a new project, adding django CMS to an existing Django application, configuring larger deployments, controlling which plugins editors can use, and working with the CMS every day.

Release

django CMS 5.0.9 released: security, accessibility, and stability improvements

This release addresses three medium-severity security vulnerabilities and includes improvements to accessibility, Django compatibility, permissions, Content Security Policy support, and general editor stability.
